FAQs

Are the rooms only for working professionals?

Yes, The District is exclusively for working professionals, to promote a camaraderie between like minded individuals, in similar stages of life.

How do I make a booking?

Simply get in touch with us to book over the phone.

What do I get in my room?

You get an en suite bathroom, double bed, bedside tables, desk, chair, chest of drawers / wardrobe and TV.

You’ll also have your own dedicated mailbox for receiving mail.

How often are the bins changed & am I responsible for taking out my own rubbish?

General and recyclable waste are collected on a weekly basis. You will be responsible for taking out your own waste out to the bins provided.

What is the process when making an application?

The whole application process is done online to make things super easy for you. All you need to do is pay a holding deposit, upload a few documents and then sign the contract digitally once your application has been approved. References are undertaken.

Are couples allowed?

Couples are not allowed to rent together. The District has been designed for 26 single residents, hence the 26 rooms.

What’s the damage deposit?

The damage deposit amount differs from £600 to £800 (subject to room size, monthly rent etc).

How often are the communal areas cleaned?

The communal areas are cleaned once a fortnight, though you have an obligation to keep the areas tidy and clean after use.

What’s the starting cost for a month’s rent?

£600 to £800 per month, subject to the duration of your tenancy term and the site of your room.

What’s the minimum period I can rent for?

You can rent for a minimum of 3 months. We offer flexible 3, 6, 9 or 12 month tenancies to suit your requirements.

How many rooms are there in the property?

There are 26 fully furnished en suite rooms at The District.

Is there parking available?

There are two spaces located at the back of the property, which, when made available by a tenant no longer wanting to rent their space, are first come first serve to rent. The parking charge is £100 per month on top of the monthly rent.

What does the rent include?

The rent includes: water, council tax, electricity, and broadband, as well as access to the gym and the cinema room.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not allowed at The District.

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking is not allowed in or on land owned by The District.

Are there shops, restaurants and pubs nearby?

There are several nice locations to grab a bite to eat and something to drink nearby, such as the Pear Tree Inn and Warwick St Social. Just down the street you can find a Tesco.

Can I have food delivered?

By using services such as Deliveroo and Uber Eats, you can have food delivered right to The District’s doors.

Whereabouts in Norwich are we?

The District is located at 80 Unthank Road, NR2 2RW, in the golden triangle of Norwich.

What are the local transport links?

The District is situated near local bus routes, such as the blue line. Norwich train station is also nearby, providing easy access in and out of the city.
